Life in lonely island: luckily safe from tidal waves..
80% of the nation's 1,200 islands are less than a metre above sea level.
In last three wyks,This is third time the waves hit the islands. Luckily we were safe frm it. waves almost hit 10 to 20 feet away frm the coastal area in mst of the islands. As usual, south of the Maldives was effected much. But this year more islands have been affected than ever before from the tides. Is Blaming “global warming” enough? Where will mor dan 300,000 thausand ppl be in future?
I captured some tides today in fuvahmulah. This island is famous for an “angry sea”. a number of ppl hav died to the sea, long time back, bfr the harbour was built..thnk GOD dat fuvahmulah is not effectd wit recent tidal waves..
